Default Changing photos on WordPress theme headers

Hi guys,

I downloaded this theme for my new Wordpress blog; Broke-Ass Student. Is there any way to create my own photo or to manipulate and adapt the header more? I love the layout but the header is very difficult to read. Another image might be better suited for my site content as well.

Thanks for any knowledge!

Some WP themes are easier to change than others. Yours has a gradient background that from a first look seem to make changing the image difficult. If you give me the name or link to the theme it will be easier to help you.

I have made changes in WP theme headers for my blogs. Check my headers at fightclub.gaijindo.com and foodfilms.org you will see it is the same theme only top image changed. This was easy, the original image was a jpg named header.jpg found in the folder of the theme. So I just made my own image in the same size, named it header.jpg and replaced it.

Hi Kristoffer

I'm still fiddling around, but the two themes I seem to be most enamored with are here :

Butterfly 2.1

and

Connections Reloaded 1.5

The second one has such a lovely, soft interface. The header photograph is horrendous, though!

Ooh, I just found Misty Look and I must say, I love it. Very clean and customizable. My current header obviously isn't going to stay, but this theme makes it very easy. I just wonder if it's possible to change the green font to a soft blue?

It's not only possible its very easy--you'd just have to look through the style sheet for the template and find the numeric code for the color you want to get rid of and replace it with the color you want. In this case it appears that the offending green color is #265e15. Pick a color you like, replace all instances of the offending color with the numeric code you like. Then save and upload your CSS and you're all set!

I just did a lot of modifications on a WordPress theme for my blog, including changing the text colors like you're wanting to do. If you need any assistance once you get started, drop me a line :-)

Default in fact...

If you'd like find me an example of the color you'd like to replace the green with and email me a link to it. I've already downloaded the WP Theme you liked so it would be no trouble at all to make the CSS changes for you and email it to you :-)
