Default Need journal software to express my angst

Ok, I lied about the angst, but I have decided to start a daily personal blog, with the intention of improving my writing skills. Go me.

I'm assuming there are some of you that keep journals, so I need suggestions on open source journal software. Right now I am test-driving Google Notebook, but I want to keep my options open and try different programs.

This has been done before, at least once that I know of, but I want to expand and focus on free programs.

What open source journal software do you use?

I use MacJournal, and it completely rocks, upload to blog and everything. You probably don't want to know anything about it though On Windows, have you tried OneNote?

I have the same aspirations and downloaded the trial version of "the journal" too.
The things I'm currently trying out are:
1) wordpress: maybe it's just to obvious, why not use a blogging system to keep a diary? (just setup a wordpress installation on your local system)

2) Zoho notebook: it's not available yet, but I could see how this program would fit in nicely!
