I am looking for some stumbleupon users, interested in personal development, who I can add to my SU friend list. Would like to exchange links, and if possible thumb up and review our blog posts (but only if we find the articles good enough to thumb it up or review as do not want to ruin the system here). Will personally not thump up everything people send me, only if I think it is worth it. If you are interested, my SU username is: pschriel |

I've used Share This, and Onlywire... And I've had virtually no results with either A lot of these buttons are great for tech blogs, because their audience is tech savvy and probably very familiar with digg, stumbleupon, twitter, etc. I'm still trying to find the best way to find or create readers who are into personal development, meditation, spirituality, and are familiar with using social bookmarking. keep smiling, Ben |

Yes, it can be difficult sometimes. I don't think personal development is that popular. And beside that, I think most people just read and then move on. Although with Stumbleupon, one stumble (and review, this is important too) can make a huge difference. I had one of my pages stumbled and got 20+ extra page views out of that. Although I get the impression, SU user quickly move on as well. However, now I use SU, whenever I see a good page,I make sure I stumble and review. Last edited by pschriel; 08-01-2009 at 07:11 PM. |

| How I understand it is that more thumbs up and especially reviews increases the rating of the site. Since these sites don't publish their algorithms, I can only speculate that an increased rating increases the chance of a website being "stumbled" upon when the stumble button is hit. Higher probability = more hits = more traffic = more traffic = more traffic = ultimately more profit for people monetizing

From their website i believe it goes something like this: I stumble upon a website I like (website A) I give them a thumbs up. My friend (1) is stumbling in the same categorie as website A and is more likely to receive website A over website B because a friend likes this as well. Now website A has two tumbs up. Now person 3, who is in no way related to me or person 1 is stumbling. He happens to tumb up several websites that I and person 1 have thumbed up as well. He is now more likely to see website A when he stumbles. Guessing here, When a website is so good that people actually want to review it, instead of factor 1 in sumbling, it gets a 1,5. And maybe the more reviews, the higher the factor? |
