Default Steve - Do you stay concious of keywords?

Hey Steve. I was wondering if you are concious of keywords when writing your articles.

I signed up for SBI due to your suggestion, and they want you to base your articles around frequently-searched keywords.

I'm a newspaper reporter by profession and find this to be detrimental to clear, concise writing. It makes me use the keywords about two or three times more than necessary. The end result is sometimes awkward as a result.

So do you write articles around keywords, or do just write what you want and see where the chips land in terms of search engine compatibility? Any thoughts welcome.

i'm not steve but when I write, the first draft I don't consider Search Engine Optimization (SEO) at all. This is what tim ferriss does too, i know this because that's where i got the idea. I then go back and look at it with keywords in mind and see if there is a way I can use more keywords etc. If it ruins the feeling of the article I just leave them out. Content comes first for me but I'm definitely aware of what I can do to help optimize it too.

Steve's blog is found by searchers because it has a very high PR. He also has a great deal of traffic coming from other blogs and most of all, a lot of regular readers who expect high quality new articles from him, so he doesn't need to focus so much on keywords. Not all search engines even use keywords, but still, SBI always emphasizes their information.

Don't worry if Steve doesn't answer you personally, since the forum is not for asking personal questions to him, normally. But maybe he will. Good luck with your site!

Not Steve here too, but I don't think of keyboards when I write. I try to write for humans. Search engine visitors will come for back links for the most.
