Default vBulletin Stops Spam?
I saw somewhere that Steve said that he's blocked a lot of spam from his blog by sending it to vBulletin and what I'm assuming is a plug-in. Anyone have any idea what that plug-in or set of plug-ins he's using to keep his vBulletin forum spam free?

vBulletin.org is the official site for custom add ons for their forum software, you'd probably find what you're looking for there.

Steve deactivated the possibility to comment on his blog and therefore got less spam.
Instead he installed this forum where readers can comment but with aren't as much targeted by spammers as his former blog.
vBulletin is the software that runs this forum. It uses at the moment the popular askimet spam plugin.

Additionally there are two captchas on the registration page.

Also, it should be noted that his blog is powered by Wordpress, which is completely separate from vBulletin. They're two entirely different web applications.

I don't think he's "sending" any spam to vB. There's no reason to do so.

Why don't you guys use recaptcha? It's much better at stopping bots.
