I guess "Personal Development" is the niche my blog would fall under, but I didn't set out to create a PD blog. It's about human evolution on the individual level, which I guess is definitely personal development. |

For example; you could write personal development articles just on family issues, or just on time management techniques, or "inner game" stuff, or how to better express yourself in your music, or how to open chakras, or how to improve athletic performance, or grill a better steak, or whatever you're into. Don't make the mistake of connecting the term 'Personal Development' to just new age, woo woo, "The Secret" type stuff. Just about EVERYTHING in this world has the potential to be improved, woo woo or not. (although I would advise against a blog strictly about grilling, unless you believe in your subconscious mind with 100% conviction that you are the grill master) That being said, I wouldn't discourage anyone from starting their own PD blog. There will always be someone willing to learn once the teacher appears, and everyone will always have their own unique spin on what they believe personal development is. Who knows, you (as in anyone starting one of these blogs) may just be able to provide the right advice, worded in the right way, from the right frame, to get someone to make the turnaround in their life in some way. And if helping people is why you're in it, then it'll have been worth it.

My blog is also a blog that falls under this category. It's called "Awake Your Authenic Self". I started in late January and write about a broad range of topics (but mostly based around the personal development theme). I also do some reviews on books I like. Now someone asked this question, around who has a personal development blog, I am thinking of setting up (or joining) a group of personal development or related blogs. I was thinking of not just doing link exchanges but adding an extra page on my blog (and in return on each others blogs as well) to promote the blogs of this group and maybe do a monthly post, promoting the groups posts over the last month. Anyone interested? Last edited by pschriel; 05-13-2009 at 01:44 PM. |

Personal development is just that, personal. It is there, we will the find true value of all the different PD blogs. We all come from different backgrounds, and it may be easier to relate to someone who has experiences similar to our own.

I write what i suppose would be my Personal Devleopment blog here www.joelbrown.id.au. I have really brushed over many different subjects, but it is generally got a big lean towards being the subjects that are things I am working on at that time for me. So most of the time I do not expect any more then to use it to explore myself and the things that I am doing. At times though it is also an outlet for me to try and help others when I come across things that I am working on that I think others may find to be helpful.

I started WisdomWebsite.com when I couldn't find anyone else writing about what I needed and I had to figure it out for myself. I think I have something new to offer. Here's an excerpt from my site: WisdomWebsite merges ancient wisdom with modern science to form a dynamic new, non-mystical approach to understanding yourself and others. You'll get fresh ideas about:

My blog theme is personal and spiritual growth but I tend to cover a broad range of topics. It's funny that my paranormal topics are the most popular. Here is a link to my blog: Mazzastick.com |
