| This is for all you bloggers out there. Has anyone else noticed their Technorati rankings haven't been updating as they should? Before the holidays, my new backlinks were recognized very quickly and this was reflected in my ranking, but in the past couple weeks Technorati has been slow to see the new links and my ranking hasn't been increasing as it should. Is this a problem on Technorati's side that others have noticed as well? I'm beginning to doubt Technorati's value as an estimate of authority.

| I gave up on Technorati a while ago after running into their incompetence time and time again. I've had email exchanges with David Sifry over the problems, and they still remain unresolved. Their web site is the buggiest I've ever seen. They need to hire programmers who know what they're doing.

| Hmm....I wonder if this is connected with my problem. No matter what I seem to do, technorati just doesn't seem to realise when I've updated my blog. I might have done half a dozen posts and it still says last updated three days ago. My wordpress pings technorati (included in pingomatic) after every post. I've enven tried manually pining it but no luck. I wonder if they are experiencing delays of sorts. Edit: I've been listening to your podcasts Steve. Very inspirational. Just wanted to say thank you

| I couldn't find the post where Guy complained about the slow updates (probably a different blogger), but I did find his interview with Sifry. How to Change the World: Ten Questions with David Sifry

| Can anbody confirm they are still having 'slow' issues with technorati? Mine hasn't updated in over 5 days now.

| I have that issue a lot, usually contacting them fixes the problem after a few days. It's always showing odd things and sometimes the same link over and over again and other links not at all. I surely wouldn't count on them for any accurate info. |

| Yeah it seems like that is the case. It's unfortunate that they are the primary source for blog authority.

| I always have problems with various sections of their site not working for a couple of days. I also experimented with using their tags at one point but I don't think it ever registered on their site. I would do a search for tags I know I used but my blog never showed up in their listings. |
