I was just thinking about how wonderful a tool the Kindle would be for people who Photoread. It allows for much smoother page turns (i.e. clicking a button) and allow you to plow through books, even Photoreading books, at a much faster rate. Has anyone tried this? I remember Steve saying he bought a Kindle, but hasn't received it yet. I also remember him saying that he can Photoread well with ebooks because he can go page to page much faster. Any comments are appreciated. P.S. I wasn't sure if I should put this in Personal Effectiveness, Techincal, or Steve Pavlina forum. If the moderators need to move it, go ahead. |

That's interesting. However, if I'm not mistaken, you can turn the pages of a book much faster than on the Kindle, which has a small delay before showing a page. I have tried PhotoReading ebooks too, and indeed it works, but I still prefer paper books. |

| Can you give us a summary on photo reading? I mean, I can look at a page and remember the general detail, but I can't produce it word for word unless I memorize the whole page. >,< How does it work?

I may not be the best person to answer this, as I'm by no means an expert photo-reader, but I'll do my best. For me, PhotoReading is not a matter of remembering stuff word by word, but rather it's a tool to quickly learn about a subject. After PhotoReading several books, and doing the rest of the process, I end up being very knowledgable about the given subject. To completely master it, I have to practice a lot do -- there are no shortcuts It's funny how PhotoReading works. Sometimes, I just know little details, or get a "feeling" about something, seemingly without any obvious source for the inspiration. The only stuff I don't use PhotoReading with is recreative reading (sci-fi for me). The author says you can enjoy those kind of books too. Maybe I'm not at that level yet, but I just don't enjoy PhotoReading like that. I have to let my imagination roam free while reading Isaac Asimov et al Hope that helps. |
