Default How do I multi-quote somone?

This is kind of an embarrassing question since I've been a member of these forums for about 2 years now, but how do I mutli-quote someone? Whenever I click on the Multi-quote button it just flashes between a "+" sign and a "-" sign but nothing happens. I've tried selecting the text I want to multi-quote as well but no luck there. Please explain to me how this thing works.

Try this
Click on the Multi-quote button to turn the "+" sign to "-" sign

Then click on Post reply (just below the last comment)

If so, then break up what the person is saying by adding a "
" after the point where you want to cut what they are saying (without the quotes around the [ and ]). Insert what you want to say. Then add "
" before the next part of what you are quoting.

Hmmm, yeah that method seems to work. It's just weird and annoying that the multi-quote button doesn't seem to work...

Hey I did what you said and this reply is the result. Looks like it just quotes the entire passage.

Yeah, it is like that because you clicked only on the "+" sign of my last comment.

Try this: click on the "+" sign of everyone's comment on this question and click on post reply.

Oh ok I see what you mean. This seems useful as well, but what I had in mind was quoting different parts of ONE person's reply, to break up the one large quote into a number of smaller quotes. Hope that makes sense.
