Default How to gain Fine Control over Page Titles?

Hello everyone!

I've been meaning to ask this question for a while. Steve's recent "Calibration" article reminded me that I'd put this on the backburner.

I want to get more control over my page titles in Wordpress. How do I make it so my blog name doesn't show up in my post titles, but it still shows up on my main blog page?

I ask because I'm considering putting in a slightly more descriptive blog title, and I want my post titles to be concise.

Also, do you guys think removing the blog name from the title of a post is a good idea or a bad idea?

Thanks. As always, I greatly appreciate your feedback.

Install All in one SEO plugin for wordpress, it would help you do that. As for blog/site name in title, I personally like to do that as it helps increase brand precense, which is good as long as your brand is associated with quality content.

Thanks!

Is there any way to have a short version of the name of the site added to blog post titles and a longer name description title for the main page?

That option is present in All in one SEO as well, check out my personal blog, that's how it is currently setup, Yogesh Sarkar's blog about his life, and his thoughts on travel, photography, motorcycles and the world...
