Making a site soon. but i dont know if i should use my sites email adress for everything. What if I dont want that domain name in 2 years when the contract runs out? then i loose my email adress. What do you use? |

You can use a mail forward... i.e. you can have you@domain.com and then every time someone sends an e-mail to that address, it gets forwarded to iamawesome32@hotmail.com (you're actual e-mail address).

I have several email address. I have 2 websites, and each of those sites have their own email address. Infact, some of those sites have multiple emails eg. feedback@domain.com , info@domain.com Then I have another email address for personal emails between friends, family and just general stuff. I use gmail for this, rather than a site email or from my internet provider, because I know i will always have this email regardless if I change providers or cancel my domain. I have another email address for when I sign up to websites and competitons because I dont want my site or personal email to become the victim of spam All these email address have been set up to work within outlook, getting directed to their own folder. I dont use my website email address for anything but for the purpose of the website, that way if the website closes in a year or so, I still have an active gmail email and I would only loose emails that are on the subject of the closed website. |

I would make different email addresses for each of your sites. It makes it more professional when you have an email address that goes along with your site.

For the site specific things, use an email address which belongs to it and for rest just use a Gmail account as it is easier to manage then self hosted email accounts.
