Default Firefox issues

I have the latest Firefox, and I've been having a few small issues with it. For whatever reason, I'm no longer able to click on a link that I want to download, I need to right click, "Save As", rather than it popping up in a download box when I simply left click. How can I fix that?

Additionally, I've been having tabs crash quite a bit when I hit the back button. Anyone else having this issue?

You don't have a save link as.. option in your right click menu? There's a few options you can change that might help. Go to tools-->options & under the 'Main' tab there are download preferences.

There's a good chance your files ARE being downloaded... but you just aren't seeing it. When you got a new version, perhaps the default settings were turned on again. When you click a link, the file is downloaded to a folder and you won't see a thing.

Go to: extra > options. There you should see some checkboxes you can fiddle around with to make FF ask you where you want to put the files first, before downloading. You can also make FF download everything to your desktop so you can sort it out later, if you like that.
