Google launched a new webbrowser, named Google Chrome. I really love it. I specially love the GUI. So simple, so clear. Especially on Vista with Aero enabled. What do you guys think? Here is the link Google Chrome - Download a new browser Last edited by Niki; 09-02-2008 at 09:36 PM. Reason: Forgot to put a link to the project and download |

I'm using it now. Feels great -- fast. Easy to use. Quick. I also love that you can't crash it! Each tab plays within it's own sandbox, so all that can malfunction is a single tab, not the whole browser. 10/10! |

I really like the simple interface, but I'm too attached to my Firefox extensions to switch over full-time. It's an impressive start, though, and hopefully it will lead to improvements in other open source browsers. EDIT: I've seen a lot of people talking up the speed of Chrome and several sites load noticeably faster, but some other sites are painfully slow in loading. *nod* Once I am able to write extensions for it, I'll likely switch. Right now, it reminds me too much of the old HotJava browser from 1995. Really neat, really new, really cool, but in the end, not too much new stuff in it that's useful, and a lot of useful stuff missing.

And I have to say, Chrome does seem like more of a toy than a well-done web browser. I won't be switching over from Firefox any time soon.

I like Firefox with its extensions alot better the Google Chrome. But I will definitely tinker around with Chrome some more. I have been using Open Office for word processing and spreadsheets on my personal computer. If Google's Chrome is as good as they say for running applications, I will likely switch from Open Office to Google Doc's using Chrome. I'm all for innovation. And with this being open source... I think it is great. I just hope it doesn't dwarf Opera and Firefox which are constantly creating new innovations in web browsing. |

Waiting for the linux version... I am already used to Firefox 3 and its extensions, so not sure that I will want to switch completely. It still looks like Chrome is using some innovative stuff, at least stuff that other browsers should have done a long time ago (JavaScript compiled to native code, one process per tab, ...) |

Problems I've noticed so far: When watching flash videos they sometimes freeze and then I have to close the app. Can't use certain javascript features that I could use in IE. Besides for that though it's pretty good and have been using it as my default browser. |

Either you could use an addon to change the user-agent string (it probably exists), or just use IE on linux using wine to download it (ies4linux)... Anyway, Chrome is beta, so I can still wait that it evolves a bit before testing it.

Hahaha living2xcess. HAhaha. This post is dedicated to that great piece of humor that was living. Living life to the fullest, hahaha --------- I think if chrome can become better than firefox, with more adaptability, efficiency, and with tons of addons, then I'll get it. Forefox with addons is really cool and makes life easier already. |

I think with Chrome, Google is less concerned with making the best browser ever and having it dominate the market, than with pushing the limits and coming up with innovative ideas that will force the other major players to adopt these concepts and using the competition aspect, to launch browsers into the next generation. This is highly apparent with the comic they released. Well, to me it is. |
