Hi, everyone,

Just in case there's anyone wondering what happened to this thread:

There were two separate threads about Twitter in which users were posting links to their profiles, so I merged them and changed the title.

I would also be honored to have you following me on twitter. I just recently set up my account which you can find here.

If you want to take this even a bit further you could all include links to your twitter account in your signature. This would certainly add to this community!

Even though I am new, nice to keep in though with you that way.
Greetings,
PhilK

Hi guys,

I have a personal Twitter account, chockful of holistic, results-oriented, personal development for smart people goodness. There's also my idle rambling, some dry wit, and at the moment, a picture of a fluffy cloud.

The battle of the picture of a fluffy cloud and a picture of my [insert adjective here] mug (of the face variety) begins soon. Who will win?!

Only one way to find out!

Twitter / bruceachterberg

On a side note, I went crazy with banana energy today and beat the world record for amount of Twitter posts in one day. Now I feel like I'm typing in chunks of 140 characters wherever I go. In the year 2032, records set by banana-fueled Twitter'ers will be recognised as an Olympic sport.

All this and more on Bruce's Twitter account.

I'm adding those who have interesting blogs or interesting insights into Personal Development. Please, add me as well if you find my blog interesting or just for the sake of it, specially bloggers on Personal Development or Spiritual writers/followers. I'm currently learning about both

P.S. ChrisCade, I really like the short stories published in your website. I'm glad I found your twitter. Does your website have an RSS feed? I wanna add it to Google Reader.

Daniel,

Thanks for following me on twitter - I'm following you now too. I really like your recent video post!

As for my spiritual stories site, unfortunately at the time I had it re-designed it I had no clue about blogs, RSS, etc... so there's no RSS.

There's two ways to find new stuff - one is next to new stories is a "NEW" tag for quick reference.

The second way to get updates is to sign up for the newsletter - that typically means an autoresponder message about every 10 days, and then 1-3 newsletters (with new story updates) and/or promotional emails.

As a side note, I do have a new blog (no content yet) where I will discuss a story from my own perspective. That's on Wordpress so you can sign up for the RSS anytime and you'll catch it when I do finally get around to blogging:

I've gradually become quite taken by Twitter - not least because its simple! I get confused with what you're supposed to do on Facebook, and now get my "Tweets" sent to Facebook.

I also use Tweetmyblog which creates a mini blog on my blog (its easier to see than describe)

I've added those on this thread who have tweeted recently.

Hello
Firstly, thanks for following me! There is a Facebook/Twitter application that will add your Tweets

I'm no expert on Facebook, but as far as I recall it was simple to add and it works well.

It's funny, when I made that account, I actually felt that I didn't want anyone reading what I wrote, because I'm so shy and it was a place I felt safe writing and posting freely online, so I wrote some haiku poems...about mundane things. Then my computer broke. And then it got boring writing just for myself.

I wonder if it could work the other way, Facebook to Twitter.

I agree, when you first write on Twitter its quite weird as its hard to imagine who you're connecting with. I did find once one or two responded to my rather mundane tweets I gradually got more comfortable. The trick is to also respond to others, however fleetingly.

There are so many applications out there, its only a matter of time before Facebook goes to Twitter - if not already!

I don't know how to respond or comment on what others write. I just tried to do that with you, but I failed. As far as I can see, there is only the @ thing you can use, and I don't even know how to get it to say "@David..."

If you go to any tweet, even someone your not following, and hover your cursor over a post you will see a start and backward curving arrow on the right of the post. If you click on the arrow it will put @whoever into your "what you are doing" box. The star is to add that tweet to your favourites, which I don't bother with much.

You cannot add photos to Twitter but there is an application to link photos.

I readily cheat when there are no rules.

I'm currently experimenting with that style. I seem to have found a middle ground that seems to work. Trying to optimise my expression based on the feedback I get. I notice that when I hit the right spot, I get good feedback, which means I'm probably being more useful. That's the goal.

At the same time, I try not to cage myself by thinking "you must provide extreme amounts of value with each Tweet!", since I also enjoy the interactive side of Twitter and the ability to just share things I otherwise might not share if I try to share oodles of value with *every* Tweet. That said, I try to make sure value abounds.

Twitter accommodates many different styles.

Very true. I mostly just post cool links and quotes and the occasional @ reply. Since I also syndicate my Tweets to Facebook, MySpace, my website, and my blog, I also find myself sometimes thinking about the non-Twitter audience who also receives my message.

I actually get more replies from people on Facebook than I do on Twitter.
