Default $79 cell phone service, no contract by Virgin
Everyone, Virgin Mobile now has cell phone service in the US for $79 a month, unlimited calls and no roaming. You don't have to sign a contract either. I just wanted everyone to know this who's monopoly phone service contracts were coming due.

No it's for regular cell phone use. It also includes unlimited texting. By law they have to let you keep your number.

The unlimited texting package will cost you an additional $10 per month. Still not a bad deal, but I'm tempted to wait and see what the big boys will offer as a response.

Hmmm, I get 1000 anytime minutes, unlimited nights and weekends, unlimited interenet, email and text with nationwide long distance and no roaming for about $75/month with T-Mobile.

Well, if Virgin and T-Mobile worked better in Indiana, I might jump at it. However, last I checked, they didn't have much for service in the Indianapolis area.
