Default Fully electric car for $25k

Step one: Buy a used 2005 Prius. This will cost about $19k.

Step two: Convert to PHEV (plug in electric version.) This will run about $6k.

Step three: Profit! 160 MPG on a $0.50 charge. That's 1,500 miles on a tank.

Damn, that's really cool. And not a bad deal at all for $25,000, considering the thousands that would be saved on gas over the next few years. Very cool.

That is very impressive. With gas prices going the way they are maybe I should be investing in PHEV technology.
