Default Creating software video tutorials

Hi everyone.

I'm about to begin creating software tutorial videos for our program, NoteScribe. We did some before, and we've realized we have a lot of work to make them good. So I had a few quick questions about how to make them:

1) What type of video-capture software should we be using? We obviously want something that will record at a high resolution.

2) Are there any recommendations for recording the audio onto the video footage?

3) I've noticed a lot of video tutorials commonly have arrows, or additional things pop up on the video in addition to the mouse scrolling around showing you where things are located. What type of program would I need to produce that?

Thanks!

I would say Camtasia if you are willing to spend the money. It's well worth it for presentations.

If your budget is tight, you can do Fraps which wont have the fancy popup features but it's inexpensive.

Thank you for the tip, Jim!

I will check them both out. I do like the pop-up feature, so I think I'll download camtasia.
