Default Best way to keep track of blogs

What is your favorite way to keep track of blogs? I've being a "go to the webpage" to view blogs, however, I'm starting to expand the number of blogs I like to read from about 2-3 to many more. I'm curious, what is your favorite way to keep track of multiple blogs? Is it google reader, or a client based blog reader? What's the best way?

I have an iGoogle homepage and put the feeds for all my favorites on there along with my gmail and weather and a few other things. I find it pretty handy, but I don't know if it would work if you read a ton of blogs because that would get to be a really long page.

I have 15 feeds on there right now from The Onion to Steve and Erin's blogs to xkcd and news.

Another thing that's cool is you can have different tabs, so you could separate them by topic or something as well. And you can set how many posts you want it to show for each (1-9) so you could save space by lowering that.

I just bookmark them all, and visit them at the same time each day. Nothing new updated? I check back the next day. Simple!

At the moment 130 feeds with google reader. That means 872 read items in the last month.

I use Google Reader.

But I also have a Tumblelog => tumblr.com

This has a neat firefox bookmarklet that lets you post straight to yout tumblr account.

Then I take the feed out of tumblr and run that into reader where I can label and search the interesting items.

I second Google Reader. You can even put it on your iGoogle page and read from the google homepage.

I too use Google Reader.

I was visiting bookmarked sites individually, when I regularly read perhaps 10 blogs, but as that number slowly increased, I kept missing great posts!

It's also nice getting posts by RSS to a feed reader, as it feels as though they've come just for you -- a bit like email. :-)

With my blog The Office Diet, I find more people subscribe than visit daily, too.

Best,

Ali

Default Vienna for the Mac

Good, free RSS Feed reader Vienna that "just works" at first install but lets you tweak extensively with smart folders & such. 20-odd feeds nicely organized, you can close it and it will remember what tabs you had open and reload content... pretty cool.

Wow, lots of recommendation for google readers! I've gone ahead and set it up with some blogs and will try it out now. Thanks for all the suggestions!

I use Firefox to reed most of my RSS feeds. I also use Microsoft Outlook 2007 and for some select feeds, mostly those Microsoft feeds dealing with their products which I have an interest in, I use the reader which comes with Microsoft Outlook and check the feeds when I check my email.

My webmail has a feature to syndicate RSS feeds to my inbox, so I use that.

I'll only use a feed if it has direct links to the content or has the entire post(I haven't seen any of the latter).

I guess I could use a mailing list as a last resort...

If none of those are available then I'll bookmark the site.

I just wanted to write back and let you know that per the suggestions, I tried google reader. Now it's been over a month since I've been doing it, and I absolutely love it! It's so much easier to use google reader then I initially thought it'd be. It's also been much more enjoyable to keep track of blogs, and I've been keeping track and reading more blogs then I did before.
