| According to this survey, American parents are A-OK about violence in games. What's wrong with the odd rape or severed head? It teaches kids to respect the American soldier's job, after all. On the other hand, sex is a no-no. So is kissing between two men. Survey Says: Parents Prefer Violence to Sex and Gay Kissing in Video Games But a similar survey for Norway found that these Europeans were the exact opposite. | Yes, Americans are just a bunch of prudes compared to us Europeans! That's why you have Nipplegate and we have posters of naked women promoting shower gel in bus stops |

| There's nothing wrong with either of them. The customers always has the choice of not buying a game they don't like. I really don't see how games can be banned or blamed for anything. Just stop playing the damn game if you don't like it.

| Well, the Norwegian poll was a bit biased. It was run along with an article that was critical of the result of the original poll, so it doesn't really count. What irks me, is that two guys kissing got second place in both polls. That's just homophobia. |

| I don't understand why there is a hug uproar over games like GTA and the whole "movies and video games are desensitizing our kids" thing. First of all, you are the parents, it is your responsibility to keep them away from media like that. That's why there are locks to keep them from watching certain things and ratings to keep them from buying certain games or watching movies. Just portraying that you want some sort of government regulation or something on this just shows that you need to be doing a better job at parenting... Sorry for that little rant, it just pisses me off that parents get so steamed over these video games. As for the parents finding it more offensive to see sex or gay guys kissing than violence, it's because we've gotten used to the CNN and news stories which are worse than the violence in video games. They should be blamed, not games. I love how nudity and sex is so taboo in the US even though it is so natural, yet you can watch car bombings, gun fights, and soldiers chucking innocent dogs off cliffs on television.
