Default How small can time be ?

Hi! How small a division can time be made. That is, I read of massive
numbers of Giga Bytes, what is the limit that electrical things can be switched at . Have we reached the limit yet ?
Is time infinitely smooth with no joins ? Or does time go along in infinitely small steps ? A big ask I know but can anyone ellucidate?

This is an important question. Because if quantum scientists says they can prove that an atom can be in the same place at the same time, what if they are just not measuring time in a manner commensurate with the size and speed of the atom itself? It then appears to be in the same place at the same time but we just aren't observing it in a small enough increment of time.....

Hmmmm....
