Please CRITIQUE our website!

Hi everyone!

"Long time reader, and first time poster etc etc"

We have been creating and setting up an internet business for the last few months, we have finally launched our own website and are currently waiting to be indexed, but things are still very WIP, for instance we only have a few products live on the site as we were fearful of being sandboxed by Google, and plan to continue to update the site over the next few weeks.

I don't want to say too much about what I think of the current state of our website as I don't want to influence peoples opinions. I would really appreciate some honest first impressions on the design, graphics, look, functionality, or anything really, and ALL IMPROVEMENT SUGGESTIONS are more than welcome!

I like that a lot. Its clean, simple and to the point and lots of questions are answered. The few critiques I came up with are:

You may want to note the return policy up front, or even offer the tried and true 110% Guarantee, though your prices are pretty risk-less

Perhaps beef up your about me section...who are your team of NLP experts and psychologists? I mean, anyone can say that, but maybe a picture of each team member and a short bio would instill that you are buying from people.

Otherwise it looks great, did you make the site yourself?

I don't like the text colors on some of the pages, red and light gray. I think the titles should be blue or green to go with the colors in the header image and the text should be darker. Also there is a lot of space around the titles of each page even though they contain basically no information. If, for instance, the "About Us" in the header image turned green when a viewer was on the "About Us" page then there would be no need for an additional title.

Finally, I think you should take down any text that references things not yet offered on the site. For instance, "testimonials" on the about us page and "learning a new language" on the home page.

Laura, we will change the text colour from gray probably as a few people have mentioned they are not keen on it, and yes the space around the titles is annoying me too, so that is also on the list to go, and we will be changing the text for all of the titles on our site from the standard red into something more graphically appealing

Hi lucas i see where you are coming from with the return policy, but we don't want to put it up front as then we feel it would put doubt into peoples mind for no good reason, towards the end of the page we feel it occurs naturally and just reassures people who are interested but have some doubts... that was the plan anyway... we don't want to put doubt into peoples minds right from the top line

the idea about the about us page was to make it corporate feeling, and to try and get away from the "my name's psychic dave and i make these albums from my bedroom" type website that we have seen elsewhere, so we have been hesitant to write too much about ourselves or put pictures on, we think it can look tacky.... but maybe we do need to personalise it somewhat or find some middleground...
