Default Note software or online site

Hi, can anyone suggest some software for storing info and notes on my computer, or online? The one feature I seem to be unable to find is having multiple notes open at the same time. Often I am combining multiple ideas...

The other 2 must have features are (a good) search and tags.

I took a look at google notebooks (maybe there is a greasemonkey hack?) and stikkit, jjot, helipad, and ubernote... I have evernote on my pc but never found the search to be flexible enough - I just want to find whatever I stored easily...

Hope you can help!

-Avi

I'm involved with UberNote. It has tags and a search. How do you define a "good" search? I am open to suggestions of how it can be improved.

I would either recommend "Notes" on Mac OS X.....or Microsoft OneNote on Windows.

If you are using Linux and Kde, Try "Basket". Maybe with the KDE4 there will come a port to windows!

I use Microsoft One Note and am very pleased with the functionality. Since I use Microsoft Office and this program is included as part of my package I will continue to use it.
