The clock on my computer is always 2 minutes faster than it's supposed to be. So each morning I have to go synchronize it with the real time. But if I let it go for a week it's still just 2 minutes fast. If the clock is running 2 minutes fast, why isn't it 4 minutes ahead on day 2 and 6 minutes ahead on day 3 and so on? How can I get my clock to stay synchronized? |

If you are using a windows based system then double click your clock and click the internet time tab check the box for auto update and also look to see if it is using "time.windows.com" as the server. If it does not work after that then switch to "time.nist.gov" for your update. Hope this helps. Sincerely, Cadman |

I'm sure Steve knows being an expert developer and all but BIOS is what loads before windows. When you turn on your computer, you see some white text on a black screen right before windows loads. During that time, you have the option of hitting F2 or F10 (it will tell you at the bottom) go get into the BIOS menu. In there, you can change the "BOIS Time". Btw Cadman, I was in the A+ Help Desk type stuff as little bit as well but simply couldn't stand it! Last edited by Rivelli; 02-08-2008 at 08:52 PM. |

it wasn't the always the case but computers have "fast boot" which basically means it just hides the white text on black background and goes straight to windows loading. I believe to bypass that, you hit ESC right when it starts booting so it does the full startup boot procedure where you see everything including the F<> button to press to get into BIOS. It isnt hard, you just and to be quick, maybe spam hit the same button quickly at the right time and perhaps reboot till you get it.

Okay, I turned off the synchronization feature like Seeker5 suggested and then I just manually set the time to what it should be. This morning, it's still accurate. I think the problem is solved but I'll see as time goes by. Thanks everyone for your input to a very annoying problem.
