Default Learing Social Networking

After reading through the SU thread and finding so many of you. I was wondering besides SU what are other good social networks does everyone use? I have joined SU, Digg, Redd and MySpace. Are there other important ones to use? Any good blog specific resources?

Besides consistent use is there anything else really important about social networks?

del.ici.us is also a traffic source for some bloggers.

I would put MySpace into another categorie than StumpleUpon, Digg, Reddit and del.ici.us.
Facebook, hi5and orkut are other MySpace-type networks that are popular.

Don't forget that they are about contacts between people.

Talking about this in terms of “bad news” or “bad judgment by business leaders” seems archaic. It’s like describing World War One as “a serious diplomatic concern.”
Bruce Sterling about the financial crisis.

facebook is a good one, doesn't help as much with meeting people but it works for keeping track of existing social connections

I absolutely disagree.

I joined facebook within the last 2 weeks. I have added at least 75 new networking contacts. It's such a different atmosphere than MySpace. I request an add friend and have not been rejected yet! From these 75 new "friends" I have gained not only friendships, networking contacts...but also some business deals... ($500ish in the last week)

I find people with common interests....send them an message or write on their wall. I ask them what they do...visit their websites and am genuinely interested. When they ask about me...I tell them and frequently a business transaction is just around the corner.
