Default Jumping Back and Forth

Jumping Back and Forth

I keep going back and forth between technology, paper and pen. I know that technology is the best way to communicate and to keep records but I still want to and do return to my roots of paper and pen. Frankly, I love the art of penmanship and have a difficult time divorcing her.

This is also true because I have to deal with a school system that has almost no technology at all on a teaching level.

So some effort has to be made by me to get me back on the right track to being technology based and devoted.

Does anyone else shares my plight? Am I the only one who cannot go all the way with technology?

What sort of school system doesn't have technology at teaching level??

I work in a public high school and there is technology at every single level. From every teacher having a laptop, projector screens in most rooms and touch screens in a few others, portable computer labs (laptops on mobile trolleys) as well as an abundance of stationary desktops. Almost no teacher or student goes through a day without using a computer at least once.

I sub and the last school I went to did not even have a copy machine for teachers.

Another school had only one computer for the enter teaching staff.

The Shame of the Nation by Kozol, said it much better than I ever could.

Consider yourself blessed to have all that technology available to you.

Thank you for comment.

Laptops are shared with students in some cases. I work for the NYC system.

In fairness they are getting better but they have a lot of catching up to do.

Read the book, you will understand, all is not equal in the school systems. It is a shame, really.

Fortunately I have my own laptop and dell hand held and I use them.

Have you considered getting a tablet PC? As I understand it, it's the best of both worlds, allowing you to interact with your PC via a pen...
