Hey - first post/thread here. I'm wondering about getting a PDA, and am looking for your experience with them. I am going to be going back to undergrad in a bit (winter break), so I want to get something before break is over. I originally wanted to get a new cell phone, but a PDA might be more useful. WHat are your thoughts? Good/bad? Any recommendations? Thanks |

What do you need it for? (Just curious to find you reasoning for wanting one.) What would it's purpose be, basically? Also, are there any special features you must have (For example wordpad, music, internet, etc.)? |

I would be using it for organization mostly, maybe music and a camera if it has it. Cell phone - most of the ones I am looking at have that. I'd like to keep it under 200$ too, but we'll see. I don't need to "write" anything on it, like essays, etc. Internet would be nice but is not super necessary. |

| $99.99 PDA Sale | Wireless from AT&T, formerly Cingular I'm considering that, we'll see. I don't "really" need a new plan or anything, I generally use prepaid, but we'll see. |

If your in the US, an iPhone would suit you well It has a full blown iPod, calendar, email, internet, notes and camera all in the one package. I'm dying to get an iPhone, but they won't come down under until much later in the year, and I don't want the risk of importing one and unlocking it. |

What has worked wonders for me has been the Palm T/X. It is a divergence device that is a stand a lone PDA. I upload video, music, and games to it and every thing runs great. It also comes with bluetooth and wireless internet capabilities. The best if you want a convergence device is a Treo or Blackberry. Just remember that the monthly plan is fairly expensive. -K |

iPhones don't actually do anything that a normal PDA doesn't do - they just do it with a bit more style. The phones and PDAs made by HTC are very nice, and very hackable. I'm on a HTC Charmer (sold as a T-Mobile MDA Compact II), I get to upgrade in March, and I've been very happy with it thus far. |
