totally awesome. I have been following this for a while. I already drive a prius, but when something comes along even better for the earth, i will be right there.

I am waiting to see a more fully functional prototype (no noise, etc) before i commit to owning one.

I cant wait to see how this company does and how it affects the automotice industry (like making them get their butts in line and make cars better for the earth.)

OMG that's ugly!!

This is where I think there is a massive problem with the move towards renewable transportation. Most of the designs that people and companies come up with are just plain wacky! How can people take green cars seriously with designs like these?

The only green cars that look normal in my opinion are the Tesla Roadster and Prius....and even the prius at the time was quite different looking to other cars (its the norm now). We have the technology, I just wish the car companies would just use the same design or "look" that cars have always had right up to now (like the camry, or commodore for example), instead of always trying to create "futuristic" designs or whole new models that you can't really take seriously.

The car I have my eye on over the next couple of years is the Chevy Volt. That thing is gorgeous....a little on the 'different" side, but still...it looks like a car.

Saw this vehicle first several months ago in some web videos. The technology behind it is very impressive. The overall look of the vehicle will get a lot of attention as it has already. However when it comes to practicality, I doubt these will get mainstream appeal. I'm picturing a few inches of snow on the ground and it completely losing control. Is traction / stability control an option? What about frills. This car doesn't seem to have enough of them. Of course it'll appeal to hardcore environmental activists and airline pilots but outside I'm not so sure.

Personally I'm looking forward to the next wave of hybrid electric vehicles. The transition to lithium ion / polymer based batteries instead of nickle metal hydride along with more powerful electric motors should give a big boost to the hybrid market.
