Default Community Forum Software

Seems very economical these days vBulletin® - Instant Community

Just had a look and it seems like good idea.

Are you looking for feedback on the software? I use VB to power my forums also. (And so does Steve, for those who haven't noticed )

I'm not clear what (if anything) you're asking?

If you're looking for economical forum software, phpBB is entirely free (and Open Source (GPL) for that matter).

I just recently switched to Hostgator, but there's not much activity on my board so.....................

@Keith - I think Robert's just trying to get a basic feel for how forums work, the different types of software used, how to get it online, etc., right?

I have a forum with vbulletin as well. It's quite good, but there's so many functions in the admin panel that it takes me a while to find what I need to change. Users ask me if I can change something like "the signature picture size" and it takes me forever, to find the function to change it -lol

I have just integrated flashchat FlashChat - Customizable Flash Chat Room and Live Support system for your PHP/MySQL-enabled website. Try it now! with my forum (wrote quickly up about in my blog) - live chat function. Users that are logged into my forum are automatically logged on.

It's great, highly recommend it. I will be interested to see how well it works with a large number of users using it.
