| Hi guys, Quick dreamweaver question, i downloaded NVU too, and had this "problem" and a few others, and i still couldnt figure it out, so ive got dreamweaver now and the problem is this: when i paste in the code for a website template into the code page, the design page tab goes away so i cant click on it (it goes fuzzy if you know what i mean) anyone know what i'm doing wrong? |

| The only time I can't get the design tab is when the file your editing isn't saved as a, for example, HTM or PHP or any other file that actually displays in a browser when you double click it. A lot of templates use include files which are just text files but have either .inc (include) or .tpl (template) as the file extension. Dreamweaver reads these as just plain text files and wont display them in design view. You could just save as or change the file extension to .htm and then Dreamweaver should let you view it in design view. |

| Once you have done the above, also make sure that you manage your website go to 'site > manage sites' and make sure that all related external sources for the page that you are working from, originate from the same place on your computer i.e. other relevant .htm links and the images folder. Your design view will be pretty useless without your file reading the correct data from the correct source.

| Matt .css means that it is a cascading style sheet file which is a necessary part of telling the html design what to do, but nothing to do with showing anything in the design view. When you downloaded the website template there must have been other files including an .html or .htm one? The .html or .htm one would have references to the .css file, they work together (maybe there is a .php file, but I know nutting about .php except how to mess it up... hopefully others will be able to explain it better {blush}).
