Default WordPress Book

Can any of the WordPress users recommend a good book on this subject. I can weed through the documents on WordPRess.org, but would rather just pick up a well written book that covers prety much all the app, from describing what code does what to customizing themes and plugins. Any pointers are appreciated.

Thanks

I bought the Wordpress Visual Quickstart guide. I like it better than the dummies book, but I'm sure that either would be beneficial

Wow, I probably wouldn't waste my money on a book like that.

In my experience, I just downloaded wordpress and started using it. When I came to something I couldn't figure out, I would go to google and type in my question and have always found an article on the web that gave me enough info to help me work through it.

My best suggestion as someone who has been blogging for 2 years with wordpress: just start using it man. It's a fairly easy setup and once you get in the groove, figuring it out is pretty easy.

BTW, I am not a tech guru at all. I couldn't program my way out of a paper bag. But I have built websites and blogs and have ran message boards and there have been very few times when I couldn't find the info I needed on the net for free. Most of the problems and issues you face are issues that other people have faced and asked about on the net.

I went through 'WordPress Complete' book and it is quite good, this book is written for beginners who are not an IT expert, non-developer, and have no experience with WordPress. This link gives you more information about Wordpress books.

Talking about this in terms of “bad news” or “bad judgment by business leaders” seems archaic. It’s like describing World War One as “a serious diplomatic concern.”
