Ok, so I got the site up. YAY! Now I have gotten a few ready-made pages to try some stuff out. Each of the 2 readymades have their own admin, comments, etc. As I have stated before, I am very new to this and my programming skills are limited. I don't even know what folders to look in since I have pretty much looked at them all and cant find what I am looking for let alone what to change. Things I want to do: These are based on the person already being in an "articles" section. 1. put links in the menu section to take people to the article topic directory - not just to the home of the specific topic they are in, and another that would take them back to the main website. 2. each topic has a comment area that after the person fills out the form the email address is put into the admin page database in case it needs to be blocked for spam. the problem is each of the ,main pages have their own admin page - so if i had 20 of these pages I would have to go to all 20 admin pages for stuff. I want all the data to go to one spot. Above all else I would like to convert the comments section into a subscribe area. So far I have tried to change and add things from commercial stuff I found on the web at a cost with the "here this is easy to do just put our code here and there and you should be all set" but nothing is working. There are more things I would like to do but I am trying to do the baby steps plan so I dont go on information overload. All your help is greatly appreciated as always. Sincerely, Cadman

I think I could help you with this, but you're going to have to be more specific about the scope of help you need. Maybe if you posted code you have tried changing or inserting I might understand what you need. It seems pretty simple though. It seems like in your first question you are just asking for two links: Code: <a href="<article directory url>">Article Topic Directory</a> <a href="<main website url>">Main Website</a> And finally, I'm not sure what you mean about a "subscribe" section. I added a plugin on my own website (pretty easy to add plugins) to allow people to subscribe to comments. Beyond that, it might be a little bit difficult to code by hand. |
