Default Help me please with HTML

I have been trying to learn HTML so that I can make a website but I don’t know what kind of website yet. HTML is hard and if you could give me some tips on how you learned it and started your first website and how has it worked out for you.

I'm sure we can answer questions along the way. Most people learn by doing. How far along are you right now?

I'll refer you to the same site that I have referred everyone to for the last few years.

http://www.davesite.com/webstation/html/chap01.shtml

It may be a little outdated when it comes to standards, but it's how I learned HTML and it only took about a week to get proficient enough to make a decent website.

W3Schools Online Web Tutorials is another great site to learn about html. But if you want to get a site up quickly I suggest you start a blog.

I strongly recommend the Head First Books.

Specifically, in your case "HTML, with CSS and XHTML"

Allthough, technically, they're really teaching you XHTML from the beginning, but they'll explain that.
