Default Wordpress Themes

I would like to know if there are wordpress themes/templates that don't really look like "blogs" and more like normal websites?

Also, with regards to the liscences of these themes, if I change the pictures or banners to my own designs (or even modify their designs), would I retain ownership of my own pictures or is it still part of their liscencing agreement? I wouldn't be trying to sell the their themes, just use it on my own site.

I'm sure you can find more than one theme with the characteristics you're looking for, but the only one that comes to mind right now is Revolution.

License: each theme has its own license, so you should find out what you're allowed to do with the theme before using it. However, the vast majority of free themes are distributed under licenses that allow you to customize them to your needs. If you're not distributing your modified version of the theme, I think it's safe to say that you retain ownership of the images you use. Even if you do distribute it following the guidelines of the license the theme is under and you used your own original image, you could probably even restrict further usage of the image through your own license type, given that it complies with the original license terms.

In regards to your first question, I just wanted to point out that there are plenty of methods to alter your Wordpress (regardless of what theme you use) to make it appear less like a blog and more like a website.

For example: using static frontpages, adjusting the layout, removing category links, taking out the post date out of articles, removing comments from posts, etc.

I have lot of "780 px" wide images, I always wondering if they can fit in the wordpress window? Should I switch to wordpress?
