Question Technorati and Myspace - What's The Deal

I've been browsing Technorati (only for the last two days I just got into it) and I can't figure out a couple things.

1. If one of my tags is "politics" will my post that I submit to Technorati show up in order of how long ago it was posted, under the "politics" tag search?

2. Is there a rating system like on Digg or Newsvine?

3. Why is there an overwhelming number of posts from myspace blogs on Technorati? It's very annoying to me.

4. How do you get a higher ranking on Technorati?

As far as I know, it lists them in order of most recently posted to least recently posted.

There is a ranking system, but it is dependent on the number of blogs that link to yours. I don't know what effect it has on the listings, though.

Because MySpace is amazingly popular, and it provides a blog function. I note that a lot of blogs come from blogger or typepad, too. The problem that you might be experiencing is that because MySpace is so popular, ANYONE can start using a blog just by having a MySpace account. It means that ANYONE can create posts that get on Technorati, polluting the listings with irrelevant or useless content such as "I fed my cat today and had a good breakfast. Yum."

Perhaps Technorati provides a filter for specific domains?

Get more people to link to your blog. Basically, if other people think you have something interesting to say, Technorati then thinks that you have something interesting to say.

as gberardi said, it sorts by recency of the related posts

There are 2 rating systems in Technorati -
the first is straight link popularity (as gberardi said).

The second depends on members making your blog a "favorite",
which is a way of "voting up" a whole blog and not just one post.
This rating tends to be overlooked.

Two words - Link popularity.
Quantity seems to be more important than quality.

see previous answer.

easy way - blogrolls, link exchanges, trackbacks to cited articles

harder way - good content that gets trackbacks.
