Default BlogRush

I just signed up for BlogRush a new program for increasing traffic. I'm using blogger for my site. BlogRush is asking me for my feed url. Everytime I put it in or the one I thought it was it tells me invalid url feed. It seems like a good tool, but it's useless to me if I can't get past this step. Feel free to give me any suggestions for improving my blog. I would welcome that too. My site is the one under my signature. Thanks for listening.

I might as well leave you with a quote since I am the Quoteguy.

Don't know much about BlogRush. I like the Wild West analogy in the name, but I steer clear of the stuff myself.

But you said it was to create traffic. What are you planning to do with the traffic? Blogging is a tough way to make money and I'd suggest Make Money Online - Online Business Inside Out is a good guy to watch. He had some comments about BlogRush too :-)

1) I believe your feed URL is:
http://inourownwords.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default

2) You can try it out, but I don't think BlogRush is very effective, other than promoting Blog Rush itself. Here is an article I read today where the writer posted his results: * Blog Rush = Blog Trickle?*by*Internet Marketing Mind

All the best!

I'm giving Blogrush a go, but like you all have reservations. My main gripe (as with many directories) is a lack of "personal development" category - I had to chose between Education or Health/Medicine.

It was on my blog. Now it is gone. It looks ugly and the click through rates are terrible. Just my 2c....

Thanks for the input. It's on my blog right now. I let you know what happens. I'll be the guinea pig I guess.

Thanks again for your help.

No problem! Here's another article on BlogRush performance, this time from the hugely popular blogger John Chow:
My BlogRush Stats | John Chow dot Com

He remains hopeful and blames the horrible click through rate on his article titles, but I disagree.

Here's another perspective on BlogRush, from a more reasonable viewpoint, I think. Remember, it's only been out about a week. There are bound to be kinks to work out.

Just curious, have you clicked on any stories featured on a Blogrush widget? When I realized that I not only did not click on any stories, but completely ignored the Blogrush widget, I decided I wouldn't expect others to find my blog this way.....

I have clicked on a few. Not a great many but a few. Most of the ones that I've clicked through on I've enjoyed as well.

Blogrush will definitely have to send me a lot more traffic before I consider myself a believer, but I'm amused by the people that gave it all of 24 hours to start sending them loads of traffic and then canned it when it didn't.

Default BlogRush Report

REPORT: As of today BlogRush has sent me 141 new visitors in 4 days. Not too shabby and I'm hoping the numbers increase dramatically as the network grows.

For something thats free (except for a little space on your sidebar) that's pretty nice results.

As for clicking onto other blogs, I can hardly resist. If you put your blog in the right category then there is bound to be something related to your page on the widget. I think that it's awesome and a bit scary because my readers will be continually clicking from blog to blog, possibly spending hours just reading all the content.

Are you sure you don't mean 141 impressions?

I think John Chow had like 91 clicks with over 27,000 impressions.

Hello Friends,

Blogrush just installed "flavors." It allows you to customize your widget. I just installed mine. They look great.

So far I have no complaints with Blogrush. I have clicked on some of the other blogs through the widget. Lots of interesting blogs out there.

Has anyone changed there colors yet?

Check out the new colors on my sites.

I'm becoming more and more disillusioned with Blog Rush. The main problem is just not enough clicks. I think I've gotten one click so far and that was after I had my largest day of traffic (basically more traffic in that one day than the rest of the time the site has been up). And I'm not sure I should spend so much effort getting one click when I could easily get much more in so many others ways.

This is part of an email from the CEO:
Quote:
ARE YOU READY? Because *everything* is about to change. Forget
everything else up until now...

PREPARE FOR *BIG* CHANGES! (TWO MAJOR CHANGES ARE NOW LIVE.)

BlogRush CAN'T EXIST if we're not sending you a lot of ongoing,
targeted traffic. We fully recognize this and that's why this is our
ONLY FOCUS.
He sure can hype his widget up. Every single time they take a breath, they act like they've revolutionized the blogosphere.

Quote:
We also realize that we completely underestimated the number of
unethical people that would sign up and proceed to CHEAT and try to
'game' the BlogRush system. These cheaters ruined the click-rates of
many of our members (and burned through a lot of their credits using
automated 'exploit' methods) and hurt BlogRush's ability to send
maximum traffic to our honest members' blogs.
You didn't expect so many unethical people to use your system. Are you kidding??? This is the internet!

My biggest complaint other than the click through rate is that the dashboard has been down fairly often (it's down right now). Also, I know their tracking must be a little bit confused. If I had a certain amount of traffic one day, the next day it will be split between that day and the previous day confusingly.

And one last thing is that I forsee them having problems delivering on all the credits. My credits started stacking up and what I realized is that they can only make good on the impressions if their traffic stays the same or grows. At least this is how I understand it. With the backlash against the widget, I bet as soon as people start dumping the widget, they will have a very hard time delivering.

They could made improvements, so I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt for now. I'm going to wait it out for a while, but something dramatic would have to happen for me to keep it in the long run.

I'm going to wait it out. I like the fact that I can read other blogs on the same subject. There are going to be problems when a project is launched and so far they seem to be addressing them. I'm interested to see the numbers once they weed out the scammers. Once they do this I think we'll get a more accurate analysis of impressions and clicks.

Since I have a new blog, I like the idea of the weighted distribution of credits theory. The smaller sites will get more credits because those are the ones that need them the most.

We'll see what happens. If it turns out to bogus. I'll just take it off. No big deal.

Here's a quote for y'all:

The "people" who scorn perfection for the sake of travel go nowhere, slowly. Those who put aside travel for the sake of perfection go anywhere, instantly.
-"Johnathan Livingston Seagull", Richard Bach

It will be interesting to see what happens with Blogrush given all the hype surrounding it. Personally, I decided to remove it after seeing the click-through rates. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't be open to trying it again. Good on them for listening to everyone's feedback and trying to adjust it to make it better.

Hi Friends,

Am I the only one or are all blogs under a "pending review" status. I read there last message saying that they would be reviewing all the blogs that were already registered. I tried to put the widget on my new blog yesterday and it was rejected. I'm surprised because my "quotes" blog is basically in the same category(LoA, spirituality) and that was okayed. Just seems strange that the new blog was not approved. I wonder what the reason is. Oh well. No big deal.
