Whats This Steve?

vedic by-choice

I saw a link in a huge advertising banner in your main page for this thing.

I don't want to say anything about it, even though i'm very inclined in flaming this "pay and we do a ritual for you" thing.

From what i read, we pay them and then they do some kinds of rituals in India to bring you whatever you want (sounds familiar doesn't it?)

I remember you saying that you filter a lot of the advertising that you let appear on this site, so can you tell us what you saw on this indian Yagnas thing? You experienced it?

I haven't clicked on that particular banner but remember a few things;
1) Steve can only ban a limited number of website and has a limited amount of time to check
2) What you see on the website banners can be totally different for someone in another part of the world, this means that steve might not even have seen it.
3) Just ignore it...

I dont think that banner appeared there without steve knowing it.

Unlike google ads, i believe banners like the ones on this site like Photo Reading, Daily Journal, Million Dollar Vocabulary, are controlled by steve. And this Yagnas banner was just like the ones i just mentioned, not just an ad, so i think steve knew about it.

If he didnt, then just dont mind my thread. Or mind it, and try filtering those (in the case steve didnt filter) scams.

In that case I'm just as curious as you. :D

It's a trade off-numbers game.

I'm helping the world and the world is helping me to profit, which is good for me and the world, through the world of advertisers, but I'm helping the world so it's all good.

You can think that's good and/or bad, depends which part of the world you are.

After my 30 day trial of being a darkworker I'm only using good/bad to choose which actions to take. The criteria I used when I was a darkworker is; Is this benificial to me; good, is this not benificial to me; bad. Now I'm using; Is this benificial to everyone; good, is this not benificial to everyone; bad. But I thoroughly realize that its just a matter of perception and choice...

Dark/Light working is just another way to place your power and focus outisde of your power and focus.

Keep the observation point (you, the human bean) busy and it won't realise that the truth is very simple.......

Such is the denial of true self...........true self is god, but for god's sake don't let me know that, for I might realise that the whole game is indeed the game of denial of truth.

Better to keep the denial and keep the denial busy, hence the need for confusing (and pointless) ponderings like dark/light worker and the mystical ramblings of people who sit on mountain tops.

If I told you that you were god and the whole point of this deep and meanful existance was because you were bored, you wouldn't believe me..............but if I make it deep and meaningful with religion, faith, d/l worker, abraham, blah, blah, blah, then it's so interesting it feels secure in it's intelligence.

Everyone wants it simple.......no one wants to admit it could be simple.

What position was the ad in? Was it in the top left or was it down the sidebar?

If it was a google ad, then Steve has no way of preventing an ad from appearing until it appears, someone reports it, so he can ban it.

I've never seen such an ad before -- the ads seen can be very different for each person. That must be one of the thousands of Adsense advertisers whose ads are served up by Google. Google ads often include images... even video.

Sam988 08-07-2007 04:17 PM

It was in the "avertising square" just below the title "Personal Development for Smart People" of you main page

I normally just see 2,3 or 4 google ads there, but then i saw that huge, colorful advertising banner that took up the entire square, about those indian Yagnas.

Must have been then a kind of google advertising with images, but i've never seen one of them until then :p

Savage 08-08-2007 01:41 AM

Yup, that's definitely a Google ad. I see their image and video ads often.
