Hey all, I've just started doing what Steve said in his "How to Get Up Right Away When Your Alarm Goes Off" article (well, since last night). Problem is, my mum woke me up at 2pm this morning when I was having a shower, asleep. And I dont remember going in to the shower, only once she had woken me up by shaking on the soor. It was really strange. I've never sleepwalked before, so I'm wondering if it is Steve's article having a side effect? As in, getting up without thinking. Another strange thing was in my practices I went into the next room (to the exercise bike), NOT the shower. Although normally every day when I wake up I head straight for the shower. So, can anyone help? Cheers! |

Wow, that's really weird. I can't speak to side effects of the article, because I haven't tried the method myself. But I did used to sleep walk as a child and once unlocked the front door and almost made it to the concrete stairwell outside the apartment. After that my parents put a bell on my door and a big concrete block in front of the front door at night. Could be you were just sleep walking. I have seen it begin suddenly in others after a life of never sleep walking. I hope you find some answers because it is really weird.

Yeah, maybe somehow your subconscious was still practicing? I would think it would be an odd feeling to wake up in the shower. I just remembered another time my mom said she found me in the bathroom flushing the shorts I had worn to bed! And my brother one time sleep walked into the kitchen and urinated in the trash can. My boyfriend on the other hand ran into a bunch of stuff, got a drink from the refrigerator and said 'stop yelling at me' but no one was yelling at him. It would have been funny but he hurt himself tripping over a side table.

Hehe, nice stories! Yeah, it was odd. Even worse, when I woke up I didnt realise the time so carried on with the shower, half asleep, not really thinking. It was only when I got out I saw at was dark and my mum told me it was 2AM! |

Oh, no. I hate that. Well, I guess just see if it happens again...maybe it was a one time fluke!

Hmm. Very odd. Maybe it was related to your practice. Have you been getting up right away when your alarm goes off? Or did you give up on that after your shower experience?

Obvious question: If you've been getting up earlier, have you been going to bed early enough to get enough sleep? If you're exhausted maybe you just forgot going to the shower and dropped off.

I dont think I would go to the shower at 2AM whatever though, as I have lots of clocks and stuff. The alarm clock didnt go off either, so I dunno. | |

| Hahaha. I just wanted to respond so you didn't think I abandoned you (since we had posted back and forth). I didn't mean to monopolize the conversation I never get up when my alarm goes off either. I am trying to get better at that as well.

Hey, dont worry, I was just kidding And yeah, it's a right *****. As Steve said, you can easily waste 30mins+ a day, and that time soon adds up. I mean, it's that 30mins I want to spend on the exercise bike, just I always wake up too late <_<. |

No worries. I kinda thought it was funny too that no one else chimed in for so long. I intend to wake at 6 so I have time to exercise as well before work. But so far no luck. One of these days...
