Default Books about the Future

Steve mentioned Far Journeys.
Are there any other good books
that talks (predicts) about the far future?
(Or even the not-so-far future...)
Thanks.

I really liked Ray Kurzweil's book The Singularity is Near, which talks about reverse-engineering the human brain, biological immortality, cheap energy, and the merger of human and artificial intelligence.

Ender's Game and anything else by Orson Scott Card is spectacular.

Vacuum Diagrams by Stephen Baxter is a wonderful collection of short-stories set in the future. Both the near future and hundreds of thousands of years into the very far away future. Actually, if i remember correctly I think it goes so far into the future that it reaches the end and destruction of the universe.

I'm glad you asked it, because i love the issue.

I agree with Zukin; Kurzweil's books are the best for predicting the future IMO.

Here is a link where you will get an idea of what kurzweil's idea of the future is.

ImmInst.org -> Singularity FAQ for Dummies

And then there's also his website that got a lot of content about the future
