Hello Steve! First I want to warn you that my english is not good since it's not my first language. I hope you take that in consideration. I have decided to make some improvments in my life. There are many goals I want to achieve, and in order to do that I have to install habits to achieve my goals. I think also it depends on what kind of goals it is. I think the smartest is to take goals that change ones life, like weight loss and getting into a good university(and getting a part time job) or something before you take the next step. I want to run a blog(in Swedish) and share my experiences and personal development with others, but that will be the last thing I will do because I have to improve myself first. Okey, let me get to the point. I have a summerbreak, it means that I have NOTHING to do all day. I want to take this adventure and start loss weight and be fit. This means that I have to eat right amount of calories(healty food of course) and follow a training program and make it into a habit in a month. Since I dont have anything to do during the day, I wanted to ask you if it is possible to install another habit(studying) even if I am new to this? I will have a big standardized test in October so I want to make into a habit. I have already great study techniques that work for me. I really admire the work you do! Keep up Steve! Best regards Candy |

Candy, I don't think you need Steve to answer this. Of course it is possible to instil two habits concurrently. I was going to add "especially if you have nothing to do during the day", but then I remembered the saying "It is the busiest man who has time to spare" so maybe that isn't in fact relevant..... Now, can you instil two new major habits concurrently? Only you can answer that, and probably you can only answer that by trying. Steve has blogged on the 30-day trial approach, and also on the 30-day "Supertrial" where one is working on instilling more than one major new habit. Plenty of practical, detailed advice and onward links in the 30-day Supertrial blog, ready and waiting for you. Last edited by Mike0149; 06-29-2011 at 03:39 PM. | |
