Both tried to make an air craft .

Wright brothers succeded but Langley failed inspite of 50 hp engine compared to 12 hp of Wright brothers. He also received $ 70 K Grant from the Goverenment and Wright brothers had none.

The reason why he failed because he wanted to be famous , but Wright brothers wanted to make a difference. So he gave up.

When you are doing something to make a difference , it is a Play to have fun .
