I have been absent from the forums for a month or two at least. I have been having small strokes which continue and seemed to continue in intensity and frequency. Typing is excruciatingly difficult. I push a key, and a different character appears on my screen that was not the character I intended. I am using Dragon NaturallySpeaking to compose this message. Using the software is manageable. But it is difficult at times to communicate. I miss being active here, and I miss my friends from the boards and from the conferences I have attended. To all my friends and Associates here I love you, and I thank you for your friendship and your kindness and playfulness with me online and in person. I am very lucky that although walking can be a challenge it is not a severe challenge in the way it is for some people in their 80th year. I will be 65 this year and have the appearance while walking of the somewhat older man. I am so grateful for the ability to still be able to walk, use my hands arms and legs, have use of my vision. Some days it's really quite a bummer. Most moments of most days I experience has blessings given to me by the universe as a gift. I have lived a somewhat unusual life in that I have a six-year-old son and an 18-month-old son. Parenting them is a challenge that is different from the children I parented in my 20s. I cherish them all and hope to continue be with them and participate in their life in a meaningful way. For sure they are a meaningful part of my life. I think my children both the young ones and the ones who are forty something. My wife has been incredibly supportive. For her it is as if she had three small children all five years old or younger. How she copes I do not know. I know that her love and her help our one of the major reasons I am able have the mobility and quality of life I have now. Life goes on, and it does not conform to the script which I composed yet with its differences is quite lovely. I intend to remain here and remain the moderator if that is in the best interest of the board. I thank you for letting me know you and be a very small part of your executor. I in this message with a statement that is often used without thought or real feeling. This statement is from my heart. I love you! |

Oh Gene, thank you for such a kind message to everyone! We love you, too. My condolences to your situation. But you're right, things could be much worse, and I can tell that focusing on the positive is doing you much good. I mean, isn't it amazing that this dictation software even exists? I consider it a small miracle. My thoughts go out to you. *hugs* |

I've been missing your posts, and wisdom. I hope things will get better again for you, and that you'll tenaciously keep working at maintaining and rebuilding your physical coordination. Thanks for letting us know what's going on, and with all my heart, I wish for you to get better and stick around, and share your experience and wisdom. |

Clint, I don't like reading things like this. You are such a wonderful person so hearing that you are having such difficulties saddens me. However, your attitude is and always has been downright inspiring. I wish you all the best. Good health especially. Much love to you, my friend. Please take care. xoxoxo Your CGW#2 buddy, Julz |

Gene, I usually read rather than post, but I have appreciated your thoughtful and generous contributions to the forum. I wish you the best in the management of your current medical challenges. From a more practical point of view, I am a longtime user of voice-recognition software, and I wondered if you were familiar with this useful support forum for those who use Dragon Naturally Speaking or Windows Speech Recognition: KnowBrainer Forums - It's a good place to go for help if you are trying to troubleshoot problems with the software or trying to figure out how to get it to do a certain thing. Best wishes. |
