Lol omg. Oh, that would have been so much funnier and more intriguing if it hadn't been April Fool's and if we couldn't really tell if he were serious or not |

Damnit Steve! I thought it was totally for real until I came to the end and happened to see the date. Part of me felt agast reading it. I also did have trouble believing you would enjoy having so many people living in your house. However, part of me was also quite intrigue to see how it would work out long term! That part of me likes the idea myself of being a master and having a bunch of slaves at home You've done so many "crazy" things after all that I wouldn't put it past you to do something like this Maybe you should really try it |

I've never blogged an April Fool's joke since I started blogging in 2004, and there have been 6 previous opportunities to do so. I've made some posts on April 1st in the past, but they've always been serious posts. You can verify this by quickly scanning the Archives page. So is it really a joke? Or did I intentionally post this on April 1st to provide an easy out for those who have difficulty coming to terms with their disturbingly delicious desire for enslavement? Only those who are eager for slavery will apply now, and I can avoid any serious backlash because everyone else will simply dismiss it as a joke. Or did I write another satire post to get people thinking more deeply about their own truth? What does it say about your job if enslavement starts to look appealing? What does it say about how well you're using your precious freedom if you might be willing to give it up? Is it okay to submit to someone under the right conditions? Could you be happy with less freedom but with more love, support, and purpose in your life? Or could it be yet another personal experiment? What if no one applies? What if 50 people apply? No matter what the outcome, I'll learn something. Do you think anyone will apply? Or perhaps it's a different kind of experiment to see what I'd do if I actually received a genuine application. What would it mean if I turned down someone who's willing to help me for free? What does it say about me if I accept such an offer? What would you do if you were me and you received a genuine application? No matter what you decide, you'll learn something interesting about yourself, won't you? Or could it be all of these things at the same time? Perhaps even I don't know the answer to that. I already have one slave. |

I am glad you responded to this thread. I knew there was more to it than an "April Fool's Joke." I was disturbed by the whole notion. But, then, "freedom" is a big deal to me. Learning to trust myself and have faith in myself is my life's lesson. I kinda have been a slave most of my life, letting others' opinions sway me here and there. Even letting others' opinions determine major life decisions for me. Talk about submissive. That word makes me sick now, actually. "Submissive." Ick. Plus "slavery" is an ugly word...... ugly. If you were really were serious about this kind of arrangement, inventing a new word might be in your interest. It brings up images of abuse, darkness and just sheer terror in my mind. Dark dungeons, chains and all things terror-filled.....

See, I'm actually tempted. Nowhere in Steve's post does it say that this is a permanent position (I guess it's implied a little, but nowhere does it say you can't quit being a slave when you want to, and I doubt Steve would bother trying to stop you). On the other hand, as a temporary experiment, it would be fascinating. I've never been a slave in any conventional sense (types he from his dead-end paid internship type job), and both finding out how that feels to me and learning about Steve and his life from direct observation would be a fantastic experience - it's certainly not a lifestyle I'm likely to get to experience under conventional circumstances unless I go to a great deal of effort to set it up using resources presently far out of my reach. That said, I'm too much of a coward to actually accept an opportunity this far outside my comfort zone. For now. |

Interesting, enticing and intriguing. Being a strategic thinker, I'm immediately looking for the problems in this. Firstly, since no one is being paid, they'll be expected to spend their own money on anything other than food and accommodation. How do they travel and who pays? How about health insurance (I'm not American, so i know little about this)? Clothes? What if they don't like the food? Or each other? Will the neighbours be annoyed? It does have all the hallmarks of being like a cult religion type set-up right down to the suggestion of sex as an enticement. Do you anticipate the same kind of problems that these have? |

I am actually doing this starting tonight. I quit my day job as a valet (working there for a little over a year). Packed up all my stuff and am moving from philly to Texas. I have an opportunity to create videos about consciousness in exchange for free rent (not even certain if I have a room...at least a bed) and food (raw actually). I thought it was a win-win for me. Right before the trip I had a lot of really bad anxiety. And I still wake up with some anxiety in a hotel bed in a new city every night. I spread the trip out over 5 days. Driving 4-6 hrs. every day. Exploring the cities a bit if I can before I leave. I have been documenting things with my video camera as I go... Combining two things I'm passionate about: video and consciousness is exciting to me. I am not going to worry about the money right now. I am just going to focus on making some really awesome videos. ...the only thing I'm unclear about is how I don't need money to pay my bills... |

Before I met my husband, this would have been highly interesting to me. Steve is an interesting character and of course I'd first have to spend some one on one time with him to make sure we match, but other then that, it would have sounded perfect for that part of my life. No responsibilities, learning, being provided for, and having interesting sexual experiences. What else can you ask for? Now, I am being provided for and I have learned to love responsibilities. It wouldn't be a right fit for me anymore. Quote:
Clothes: Optional Healthcare: a good Master would provide for his Slaves Travel: If the Master needs the slave, the trip will be paid for. If not, I'm sure there is plenty to do at home Food: Slaves don't have much to say in terms of opinions about food.. Don't like each other: Slave has nothing to like. Just to obey. If the Master doesn't like, he changes the slave. See? Solutions for everything. You're just thinking this through from a very logical, your world view. Try putting on the shoes of a (VOLUNTARY) slave for a second and see how it feels?

I'm not asking people to do anything I haven't already done myself. I've created and shared tons of free content, including releasing it into the public domain, because I'm inspired by this kind of work. Imagine what we could do with a team of slaves creating even more free material to help people grow. I'm very good at planning and figuring out what needs to be done, as well as incorporating people's input. But I have way too big a backlog of great ideas that I can't implement all by myself.

Haha, I'm one of the people who saw the sattire in the post (even if it wasn't intended...although I think it may have been intended a little bit). It's pretty easy to relate the "having a job" thing with Steve's offer for needing slaves. April fools joke or not, you're gonna get some serious inquiries, Steve. LOL |

Who will pay if the slaves want to buy new UNDIES? What about items like detergent, soap, toothpaste etc? I could extend this list further. I see 2 options: 1) Steve should provide all the necessary items I listed above. I wonder how this will work for UNDIES. 2) Have an account with a supermarket where the slaves show their ID and buy anything they want.
