Default Steve, have you considered having guest bloggers post on your site?

I was just reading this page at ProBlogger and at the #7 point, he mentions that a product review that he published that was written by one of his readers actually converted better than his own product reviews usually do.

I was thinking... Would you consider doing something similar? Like posting product reviews written by your readers, or blog posts written by readers or other experts in a certain field?

Just thought it would be interesting. I definitely don't want to see your content fully saturated with guest posts every other day, but every once in awhile it might be interesting to bring in an outside perspective.

Maybe have one of your friends who knows you well in real life write about something related to one of your habits or new experiences/goals?

I was wondering if you have ever considered something like this, and why you haven't (as far as I can tell) ever had a guest post on your blog.

You know what I'd like to see?

I'd like to see Steve get a dog and then perform all sorts of personal development experiments on that dog and then we can all call it "Pavlina's Dog" and it can be really famous someday.

Each of those two eventualities seems about as likely as the other.

That would be entertaining. But did you know that Pavlov's experiment was actually backwards. The dogs conditioned Pavlov to ring the bell right before they salivated...

As much as I'd like the opportunity to submit a post that would be published on the most popular personal development website in the world...

I hope he doesn't ever do it. His site is special because it's just him. At this point, though I still learn a lot from him, I'll read stuff I'm not even interested in just because it's the continuing saga of Steve and his crazy experiments.

Having guest posters, however infrequent, would detract from that for me.

I've been endlessly spammed by enough would-be guest bloggers that I have no interest in inviting or encouraging more of that.

While in an ideal situation, I see that it could provide some extra value, my previous experiences with would-be guest bloggers is not positive. In my mind they're essentially on the same level as spammers.

So when someone offers to write a guest post for me, I'm more inclined to punch them than to post them.

Gosh, is it that bad? When someone wants to be a guest blogger, do they send you an actual blog post, or do they just try to wrangle a commitment out of you?

I had always thought that guest bloggers were like.... you know.... guests! I thought the blogger invites someone to write a guest blog, not the guest inviting himself!

But you shut down your contact form and your facebook. you can't be spammed for guest blogs if you don't have a way to actually reach you.

It's time to upgrade to Belief 2.0...a world without SPAM (unless it's in a can) and a world where anything is possible. A dreamscape of epic proportions, wrapped in delicious plot twists and hopeful dreams. A cacaphony of opportunity. A smorgasborg of personal devlopment. A....

LOL I simply can't continue.

Actually, I remember some times when I've written guest articles that I wouldn't post on my own site. That's pretty crappy of me. I'm going to not do that one anymore.

Both. Either way it's premature solicitation.

Pest bloggers would be a more accurate term, based on my experience.

I was thinking more along the lines of getting someone who knows you personally and you asking them to write an "outsider view" on "the life and times of Steve Pavlina" or something like that.

Similar to how Erin wrote a blog post about her view of yall's divorce at the same time you posted about it (IIRC).

So like... someone who has a 3rd-person view of some new area of development in your life.

I didn't mean just get random link-hungry bloggers to molest each other over who gets to post on your blog, despite that being an entertaining idea now that I think about it.

I think it's best for people to post such thoughts on their own blogs, not on mine.

For instance, Rachelle recently wrote a post that shares some thoughts about our relationship here:
Rachelle Fordyce.com Manifesting the Relationship of Your Desires

Her blog, her thoughts.
