Hi All, Just wondering if anyone is aware if there are transcripts of Steve's Podcasts, available anywhere? If they have not been transcribed at this point, I will be considering doing the transcripts. That is if that is something that people would be interested in? Would like to hear your thoughts on this? |

Since generally I prefer reading to listening (much faster, for one thing) I'd love that! I might also use your transcriptions at some point and translate them to hebrew for my local Steve Pavlina website.. if you agree of course |

I think i broke some kind of rule, here I drastically underestimated just how much time transcribing can take. Have completed the first podcast. at 14 minutes (some are up to an hour) it is one of the shorter ones. Took me about an hour, with it at 50% speed. I just need to do another pass, to ensure the wording is correct and then work out proper puncuation. This one comes in at around 2200 words. Hope to have it online before the weekend. I had been planning to get them all out together, around the end of next week, but will probably try and do 1 or 2 a week, now. |

I know what you mean. I've tried transcribing a few speeches and it's always slow going. I wonder if speech-recognition software would be worth the trouble to try to make a first draft with... It's random mistakes would at least be entertaining! |

Funny you mention the speech recognition software. It is actually something that I have tried. I tried stuff built into windows Vista. The funny thing is it goes right through a tutorial with you, and you say words completly different but it is just like the tutorial is designed to move on at the sound of voice not the correct commands. Well needless to say what came out was far from even a good start. It was actually quite terrible, and after the tutorial the voice commands mostly did not work either, at least not properly. The first podcast transcript will be up in the next few hours. Have it basically ready. I will be including the transcript and mirrored download for the podcast, along with word and pdf versions for download of the transcript. Any other requests for files or anything please let me know. |
