Default web hosting for stevepavlina.com

Hello steve, I remember reading one of your articles a few months back in which you had said that you spend $100 approx for a month to host this website. But I wonder who your hosting provider is. Because famous hosting providers like godaddy and bluehost offer hosting packages for just $7 or $9 a month. They say it is the highest package they have got and it has all the features. But why do you spend so much for hosting this site. And what extra features do you get???

I don't know the specific number but I think Steve is paying more than $100 dollar.

The kind of hosting that you get for $7 or $9 per month is shared hosting where your website gets hosted together with other websites on the same computer. That's fine if you have a smaller website but with increased website complexity you need your own server.
I think Steve has a virtual server but it's still a similar principle.
Having your own linux server means that you can run all sorts of code that runs on linux.

You should also keep in mind that bluehost doesn't mean that you can simply transfer 10 terabyte on your website when they say unlimited traffic and bandwidth.
