Interestingly, I was just beginning the process of creating a life statement today :-) ( as it's my birthday) though I won't really have a good chunk of alone time until Friday night, to really get deep into it. I love the values list, I think it will be extremely useful! In contrast to you, where love/oneness aligned values have long been most important to me, I am beginning to shift discipline etc. much higher up the list. However this is mainly because I have traditionally been lacking in those and really desire to focus on them right now!

Is the process still the same even after doing it a number of times? Repeat until you cry.

Love itttt. That list is too complex for me, haha! But I might use some of those myself in less-complex conception. Caring, intimacy, playfulness.

I find it interesting what you dropped:

focus, discipline, and efficiency
It's funny because those are exactly what I'm focused on right now. I need to. And you're already focused, disciplined, and efficient. But I'm not sure I could see them as "core values" either. They're more the means to the core values, the framework, the anatomy. Maybe?

Cool. It's interesting to see how your values have changed.

I did the values list sometimes back but it needs more work. One of the perplexing things for me is people I meet face to face have absolutely no idea what personal growth means. Or if they do, which is rare, their understanding of it is what a Neanderthal would have had, if there was PD in those times.

So if you are surrounded by such people, I am not sure as of now, what is the best solution. So I am putting LOA to work and see what happens.

Happy Birthday, Gingerbaker.

Having a purpose and defined values in life is not for others.

It gives good feelings to us.

If we deviate from them , it results in accumulation of negative energy inside.

Just to offer a different perspective-I place a high innate value on focus, not just on discipline for the sake of achieving other things. It's about the type of experience I want in life. I really enjoy fully focusing on my current tasks, regardless of what that may be (usually). And I hate days where I just can't focus on anything-for me that's not a fun experience.

On the other hand, if you only care about discipline to the extent that it helps you achieve other goals, then it wouldn't be a core value.

Steve, it seems as if you are becoming more and more aligned with Oneness. That is wonderful. Your values certainly reflect that. I am now on that path myself, seeing us all as of God and as one. Your values reflect that dream reality that many spiritual teachers refer to. Although your blog has changed significantly over the past 6 years, I continue to read it because it is fuel for my own growth as a human being and as a spirit. You are only acknowledging what is inside us all, as we are all the same, and it is God that we are. Thank you.

Aaaah. That explains it well. I feel the same way, and focus is also the word that stood out to me. Thanks.

Not sure if I understand correctly. I am in the process of redefining my values and attracting people who are congruent with those values.
