My Way And now, the end is near; And so I face the final curtain. My friend, Ill say it clear, Ill state my case, of which Im certain. Ive lived a life thats full. Ive traveled each and evry highway; And more, much more than this, I did it my way. Regrets, Ive had a few; But then again, too few to mention. I did what I had to do And saw it through without exemption. I planned each charted course; Each careful step along the byway, But more, much more than this, I did it my way. Yes, there were times, Im sure you knew When I bit off more than I could chew. But through it all, when there was doubt, I ate it up and spit it out. I faced it all and I stood tall; And did it my way. Ive loved, Ive laughed and cried. Ive had my fill; my share of losing. And now, as tears subside, I find it all so amusing. To think I did all that; And may I say - not in a shy way, No, oh no not me, I did it my way. For what is a man, what has he got? If not himself, then he has naught. To say the things he truly feels; And not the words of one who kneels. The record shows I took the blows - And did it my way! My Way (song) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Invictus Out of the night that covers me, Black as the Pit from pole to pole, I thank whatever gods may be For my unconquerable soul. In the fell clutch of circumstance I have not winced nor cried aloud. Under the bludgeonings of chance My head is bloody, but unbowed. Beyond this place of wrath and tears Looms but the Horror of the shade, And yet the menace of the years Finds, and shall find me, unafraid. It matters not how strait the gate, How charged with punishments the scroll, I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul. Invictus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Sympathy for the devil by Rolling Stones Please allow me to introduce myself, I'm a man of wealth and taste I've been around for long, long years I've stolen many a man's soul and faith I was around when Jesus Christ had His moments of doubt and pain I made damn sure that Pilate washed his hands and sealed his fate Pleased to meet you, hope you guess my name, but what's puzzling you, is the nature of my game I stuck around St. Petersburg when I saw it was time for a change I killed the Tzar and his ministers, Anastasia screamed in vain I rode a tank, held a gen'ral's rank, when the blitzkrieg raged and the bodies stank Pleased to meet you, hope you guess my name, but what's puzzling you, is the nature of my game I watched with glee while your kings and queens, fought for ten decades for the gods they made I shouted out "Who killed the Kennedys?", when after all it was you and me So let me please introduce myself, I am a man of wealth and taste And I lay traps for troubadours, who get killed before they reach Bombay Pleased to meet you, hope you guess my name, but what's puzzling you, is the nature of my game Pleased to meet you, hope you guess my name, but what's confusing you, is just the nature of my game Just as every cop is criminal, and all the sinners, Saints As heads is tails, just call me Lucifer, 'cause I'm in need of some restraint So if you meet me, have some courtesy, have some sympathy and some taste Use all your well-learned politesse, or I'll lay your soul to waste Pleased to meet you, hope you guess my name, but what's puzzling you, is the nature of my game Sympathy for the Devil - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia |

By the way, I've decided that every post I write aimed at you will have a bit of a 'darkworker' energy behind it, not because I don't like you, but because darkworkers only respect other darkworkers because it's the "better" path, right? Hmmm... Your point is pretty damn valid though... Last edited by impaul99; 03-29-2007 at 05:52 AM.

.. .. Still here? Ok, here's the catch that I ran into. Manifesting what we want, like money, fame, cars, houses, new shoes, trips, vacations, brown rice, information, etc. are all just "things" in this world. Acquiring and manifesting these things or even feelings is not our purpose here, they are simply tools to help us fulfill our purpose. THerefore, we must first find our purpose in life, and THEN figure out whether polarizing dark/light or balance will work best for that purpose. For example, I just thought about this. The people I want to help is the 98% of the population that isn't polarized. ie. "Normal" people. So, if I polarized, I would lose my audience because I wouldn't be able to relate to people. I would be able to relate to Steve on the light side or some people on the dark side, but that's only 1-2% of the population. My purpose is to help the other 98% of the population that won't polarize one way or the other. So, even assuming Steve is right, that polarizing leads to greater results, I think it depends on what you're trying to achieve. For example, I now see Steve's blog = lightworker. I see John Chow's blog = darkworker. I now read both to get balance, and my audience of unpolarized 98% can better relate to me because I can speak both LIGHT and DARK to them and teach them how to get results in life without having to polarize. So... that would be one example of first figuring out your purpose in life, before picking a "side" or "balance".

I'm not talking about it from a guilty point of view or a "lovey dovey" point of view where we all want "world peace" and to "leave this world a little bit better". Is there any inkling of wanting to help the world in any way, or do you see the world as irrelevant in the sense that there's you, and using LoA you can get whatever you want, and it doesn't negatively affect anyone else so whatever. Everyone can use LoA to get what they want anyways, so not your problem. Is that how you're thinking?

Opportunity cost exists when you are aware of alternatives. Otherwise, you simply don't know what you don't know in which case opportunity cost still exists, but you are not aware of it... Last edited by eternomi; 03-29-2007 at 07:56 PM.

| Ok, I actually do know a thing or two about the alternatives. But really though, these are alternatives about what kind of magic, I want to perform, what I want to conjure out of the air. The biggest opportunity cost is inaction through indeciseiveness.

I'm still convinced that a balanced path is the best option for me, but that's just me. I just allow my spirit to inspire me with intentions that it feels are important. If those are for my SELF great, if they are for the WORLD then great too. That could mean 80% of my intentions come from SELF love and 20% from WORLD love, or 50/50 or 15/85 or whatever. If that puts me in the 98% of the population, oh well. I just can't see myself ONLY doing things for mySELF or ONLY doing things for the WORLD. I am really curious to see how people who polarize in either direction don't fall into SELFWorker / WORLDWorker syndromes though. Very curious. Also, I'd love to see a polarized Darkworker blow the socks off the results I'm getting in life on my balanced path. It would definitely be cool to see and learn from. |

How the hell is My Way a song about being a darkworker. Just because Johnny Cash had some dark moments in his life does not mean he is a "darkworker". As for polarization, I think Steve has gone way to deeply down this course and not thought it through enough. This is like saying you need to be either a democrat or a republican if your involved in politics. Personally, I think polarization is a terrible state to commit yourself to. Live life your way. Along that way satisfy your own soul and help others. This isn't star wars.... |

Mongol General: Hao! Dai ye! We won again! This is good, but what is best in life? Mongol: The open steppe, fleet horse, falcons at your wrist, and the wind in your hair. Mongol General: Wrong! Conan! What is best in life? Conan: To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women. Mongol General: That is good! That is good. |
