For me, I first became aware of Steve's blog through Digg. I think it was an article about quitting your job. Then it was on Digg again for another article of similar topic about blogging. So I started to familiarize with Steve's website thanks to Digg frontpages. What really drew me were the articles about earning passive income, blogging tips, etc. because those were very unconventional and provocative ideas. I wonder if Steve has any intention of writing more about blogging itself. What drew you to his blog? Last edited by aliveself; 11-29-2010 at 02:28 AM. |

I had a crappy blog back then and wanted to know how to attract traffic. Somehow I was fascinated by the way Steve wrote (it was so different than what I had read before) so I read the whole article and began to explore his website more deeply. After the early riser and the polyphasic articles he'd got me. |

Like StacyT I somehow stumbled on one of Steve's posts on polyphasic sleep and was intrigued enough to read through them all. Then I just kept up with his new posts while randomly checking out his older stuff. He mentioned his wife in some of his posts, so when I finally noticed the Erin link (quietly sheds a tear) I clicked it and then had my world rocked. I devoured 100% of her articles, and thus began the changes in how I viewed...pretty much everything! |

I found the forums before the blog. I googled "who is enlightened" and found a thread about it in the spirituality section. I've actually seen that even though it is an old thread it gets bumped back to the top pretty regularly. This is the first forum I've ever made more than just a couple of posts on. I like it, I'll probably hang around for a while. I feel like whenever I do move on to other things, I'll still probably check back every so often. |

I found his articles linked in a personal development / PUA hybrid forum. My path was PUA > Personal Development in that order, as is the case for quite a few.

I think I was angry one day. I was feeling a lot of pressure to get a job, so one day I googled "I DON'T WANT A JOB!" and 10 Reasons You Should Never Have A Job came up lol....I was like damn...finally someone gets it. I remember reading it kinda got me fired up. I started walking around my apartment like "yeah! that's right! I don't want no Scooby Snacks!" |

I think it was the early riser thing for me, too, or Law of Attraction. Can't remember which, but I read a lot of posts on both subjects. Funny thing is, when I registered for the forum, it turned out I'd registered over a year earlier so I could post on one of Erin's threads and then forgot about it. |

About a year ago I was still struggling with money and my study-debts. Being really fed up about it I told a good friend of mine, that I've got just enough and I'm getting convinced that being poor is an illness and it definitely is NOT normal and fine to struggle financially. He is an excellent example 'cos he has always been experiencing a financial abundance, so he agreed all I said and told me the main point is to stop working for other people - and sent me Steve's blog post "10 reasons you should never get a job" and few others. priceless friendships |

A friend told me about "multiple streams of income", and said I should have a look at Steve's blog to find out more. Had a look, and then when I read Alan Carr's easyweigh to lose weight, I remembered that Steve had blogged about being a vegan, and had tried a 30 day trial on raw food - then I tried to clamber up onto the raw food wagon - pretty hard at the moment with all the Christmas do's going on now.

I was tired of my job, googled something and found "10 reasons you should never get a job" article, I thought it was funny and sent it to some friends who replied telling me how much they liked the article and the blog. Then I started reading the blog.

I was searching for "how to cook brown rice" and I found a really useful article by an author called "Steve Pavlina" (?)... The rice turned out pretty well and it was probably the first serious thing I had cooked (except fried eggs). But THEN - I noticed something - there were a bunch of interesting articles with some pretty thought-provoking ideas in them. Soon, I started my own personal development blog, learned how to design website templates from scratch, and now I'm preparing to work as a life coach |

Oh I remember that very well! After watching the original Matrix movie once more, being somewhat tired of my reality and yearning to do what Neo did, I googled "Take the Red Pill" and lo and behold got taken to Steve's article bearing that very name. It blew my mind how he disqualified Scientific Method itself (onto which my previous life had basically been built) in the first paragraph, explained that you can at will change your fundamental belief system to whatever works for you, and by the way introduced lucid dreaming in a sweep. I then went on to read many of his other articles. I think the second one I read was "10 Reasons to Never Get a Job" and I loved it, cause he is just right. (I do have a job still because I like what I'm doing, but if I ever decide I need to make some real money I will be out of there in no time. :P ) I also loved Erin's blog, and even though I had never been a spiritual person before, I pretty soon had some success contacting a deceased relative... could have been my imagination of course. But then again, according to subjective reality, it's all in my head anyways isn't it? I remain very grateful to Steve for showing me the way out of my less than optimal previous reality, and have been able to change my life for the better in a lot of ways with the help of this blog. Oh and love the forums, and all the cool people on here, too! Last edited by sebtanic; 12-13-2010 at 08:12 PM. |

It was a "coincidence". I was interested in personal development, but didn't know that this field would exist. As i was 17 i came across his site, don't know how, and thought ah pretty smart guy As i was 22, some things went wrong, and i put the intention out to understand reality more as it is and to work on myself. Something in my subconscious reminded me that there was once this site |
