Default Site Anniversary

We have just passed the 6th anniversary of this site, started 10/01/04. Just think of how much Steve has accomplished in just 6 years:

Built one of the top PD websites in the world.

Become a raw vegan

Written thousands of articles, creared podcasts and videos

Become a successful pratictioner of IM and meditation

Explored living in subjective reality

Switched from married life to an alternate lifestyle

Moved (I think) from California to Nevada (?)

Stopped the coffee habit

Studied Martial Arts

Became a Toastmaster

Hosted 2 (?) CGWs, bringing together people from all over the world

And a whole bunch of other stuff I can't think of right now. And he is in the process of creating an entirely new mystery career.

6 years. Has anyone come close to the level of achievement in this amount of time? Steve's latest peice of advice:

Quote:
get off the computer, and go apply some of the ideas you’ve read about on this site. Don’t tell me what realizations you’ve had, and stop asking questions as a delay tactic. Prove through action that you’ve grown and changed.

Pick an article, extract one or two practical ideas that you can use, and put it into action today.
Any thoughts on this?

No way. I don't think I will ever accomplish that much.

Well, it just goes to show that it is possible, if we take consistent action. Another blogger, the Zen Habits guy has been in operation less time than Steve, and has also evolved tremendously. Maybe there's something about creating a PD website that forces one to be more productive...

Yeah... lol. Maybe I should create one then, right? Especially since I have so much **** in my life I need to get together. Obviously, it won't be anywhere near the level of Steve's, but I guess that's not the point, huh?

Looks like it's just you and me on this subject, Cochonette. Thanks for replying. I am frustrated by the lack of real progress I have achieved and a lot of times these forums veer away from goal-achievement ideas and become more about navel-gazing and wasting time.

I am going to start my own PD journal which will act as a substitute blog. I am also reviewing old articles to try more of the 30-day trials and other techniques that I haven't used yet.

Right. Maybe I will do something like that... I need to start writing again, so writing about PD would be a good way, especially since I am taking a break from politics. It seems harder for me to write about PD, but maybe I can change that. I mean, it's not like I don't come up with ideas while I'm sitting there meditating or talking to myself. :P

Aw, come on y'all. Are we really more concerned with arguing about other's sexuality or some guy Jed than our own personal development?

The degree of progress Steve has had in his own life in such a short timeframe is so huge. What do you think is the MAIN secret of his success; self-discipline, years of reading/listening to other self-help material, I-M/LOA, other?

Has anyone experienced their own profound changes through this site?

It helps that Steve is very intelligent and creative and has an excellent memory. Who else could sustain creating a lucid dream world for an entire month to form a lifelong habit of it? No one else has followed in his footsteps, from what I can tell... He tries to downplay his innate advantages, but I can't help but notice them.
