One part of this article that got me is the "Life has become too easy" line. That's how I've been feeling lately, put into words. That feeling is evidenced here on the forums as well, as I've been doing a bit of pot stirring. It's like the idle hands idiom except the idle hands are my mind. I think it's time I up my game a bit and take a "balls to the wall" approach to my goals. Increase the difficulty from normal to hard. This excites me. -Tim |

Steve's always on that leading edge showing us that despite the unknown ahead of us that we must plug on. It's fascinating and a bit scary to watch him as he embarks on these completely new avenues of life and personal growth. But it's a reminder of how we should all be living! I have no doubt that whatever you go Steve, you will succeed. Like you did with this blog, the workshops or even getting divorced. You keep writing the program of full-living-life!

He'll be a (vegan) pizza dilivery guy! Thus - he'll make the world better for the thousands of pizza fans in the world! :P I'm not going to go into serious guessing, mainly since I think that I'd better spend my time more on my own story. One thing I'd like to note on another direction - with relation to TK, flying, etc... you can still have limits/borders in your reality, that will help you create the challange. You'd just have to find/create them. Cheers! |

Steve said it was about "expanding his contribution", which means that he will have to be able to affect more people than he currently already is. To me the probable choices are: - politics - leader of a movement (either political or non-political) - CEO of a big company Last edited by Channing; 09-12-2010 at 09:24 AM. |

I think Steve will find people who have lots of land resources and attempt to create a conscious community, encouraging people from all over America (or in whichever country) to move there to have a more holistic experience. Like a city-commune based on the principles of Truth, Love, and Power. There will probably be lots of vegetable gardens and meditation circles, and possibly a local currency. The Pav Mark? |

Isn't it a bit of a cop-out to say, "oh yes of course I could work magic, start to fly, do telekinesis... I'm not scared of it... but I don't wanna do it because life would then be too easy?" That said... I thought of Steve going into politics as well. Maybe run for governor or president? I would vote for you Steve if I could!! Whatever it is you're up to, good luck! Meanwhile we're confined to speculation on what your plans might be. It's gonna be fun either way! Travelling the world also sounds interesting, however there would have to be some special Pavlina touch to it, to make travelling a really kick-ass project |

Well I can't imagine Steve in politics because it's very cut-throat. But then again if he did get into it, he wouldn't join an existing party he would create his own one which isn't as cut-throat as existing ones. Got to be creating some party or foundation I recon. Anyway, this blog post resonated with me like a fat woman singing to a wine glass. Quote:

Lionman.... What in gods name are you talking about my boy... Lol. Anyway, I'm 100% positive that steve is going to become a superhero and fight crime. He could be like a raw food eating batman of sorts but with psychic powers and the ability to remote view and channel the solution to crimes. haha. and if he doesn't someone should DEFINITLY make a comic book called Steve Pavlina where he does become a superhero. That could absolutely hysterical. Think of the possibilities. At some point he could join the justice league and write personal development for superheroes. He could use star trek one liners on his foes. His color blindness would be his one weakness. Who here wants to create the Steve Pavlina web comic ;-) Could be quite an online hit. |

I like the post because it approaches from a very personal perspective, common philosophical themes such as finding objective or shared aspects of subjectivity, i.e. things that apply to all subjective in virtue of their natures. But also the account of the stories we create, this is cool when I think about Analytical Aesthetics and Fictionalism. Sartre says that the only way we exist in an objective sense ("being-in-itself") is as stories to be accessed once we die. Until that point we cannot be thought of as objects, although all competition in society arises from trying to make the other person/group/religion into something objective..which can then be judged. So good work! |

Loved it. Everything made sense to me, i found myself saying "yes, yes, yes" "wonderful" to nearly every other sentence. I got the impression you were going to make a film. Of course, thats probably just me projecting my desires :P |

Career transition is something that’s interests me as well. However, I have been listerning to Outliers: The Story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell recently. Among other ideas the author talks about “10000 hours”. I found the idea of 10000 hours quite new to me. Basically, it means that you have to put in 10 000 hours in order to achieve level of expertise in your chosen endeavor. Basically, this means that you cannot expect to be paid too much for the long period of time during your transition. What can we do about it? Save money at your current job (going through the motions) in order to take a leap of faith or … I am interested in hearing your thoughts regarding this matter. |

I have never heard anyone say life was too easy for them before. That said, my current job making food at a vegetarian cafe is rather monotonous... after working there for only three days, I am like, "Yeah... this is going to become too easy for me pretty quickly. I will stop learning very much and have little creative to do." |

![]() It says sometimes you feel good and sometimes you feel bad no matter what you do, but you work on and be happy for the next positive wave. The positive wouldn't be so good without the negative. Best regards Dr. Summerbreeze

Hahah that's so clever!!! Although the diagram hasn't been acurate for me....... I think there has been less severe downs.....but occasionally....the downs will be just as severe as anything no matter how far I've climbed........ I think this is because the old paths in our brain containing the old troublesome beliefs are still there....not as strong because we've been using new, more positive neural pathways in our brain........ but sometimes the old, weaker beliefs from the past still get activated in the back of our mind UNTIL we consciously activate the new, more positive neural pathways, for me, by remembering a new more truthful idea, or questioning the old belief using a new, learned perspective.

Great post! There are so many aspects to it that it's diifficult to absorb everything. Loved the analogy with OS. Sorry to hear that it's the last CGW. I would have loved to attend but after giving it much thought, I came to the conclusion that it will be distracting for me at this point of time. I am going through a major transition and I need to give my 100% here. Curious about the new direction. |

Like a previous poster said, I can't possible imagine anything that's too ambitious for Steve, and with my current beliefs and mindset, what's too ambitious for anyone? I don't think it'll involve politics at all. Remember, he said the career will be something that can't be labeled in conventional terms, and it will be uniquely him. Being any sort of politician isn't unique at all. |

No one has guessed it, neither here nor on Facebook, nor via email. It's hard to guess at something that doesn't exist yet. There's no conventional name for it. I seriously doubt anyone will come close to guessing it. If you can give it a conventional label like a politician or movie maker or philanthropist, that isn't it. It would be like trying to label blogging before there were any blogs. Maybe you could describe it as online journaling, but that description is rather limiting. And if you told people you were going to make a successful career out of online journaling, they'd say you were nuts. I'm not going into a field that already exists. It's a new field I wish to help create, and it doesn't have a label as of yet. Might takes years to get it going, but it will surely be a fun ride. And I suspect that 5-10 years from now, this field will be huge. Makes for a good story too. I tend to have a knack for "skating where the puck is going." I got into indie game development before it took off. I got into blogging early too. I've benefitted from catching the right waves at the right time. I see a new wave that's about to arise, one that's potentially much bigger than indie games or blogging. And this time I want to catch it earlier, before most people even realize it exists. And I also wonder if I can play a serious role in contributing to the building of the wave itself. So in a way, this is a natural progression for me. This is a wave I definitely don't want to miss. |
